NetProvisioning
NetProvisioning is a platform independent perl script written specifically for automating telnet tasks on remote hosts. Although it was initially meant for Cisco devices only it can now basically be used for all devices that are reachable via any TCP port.
Because NetProvisioning is multithreaded lots of devices or hosts can be processed in a very short amount of time.
Why should you use NetProvisioning ?
- multithreaded : very fast - 500 routers can be processed in just a few minutes
- profile based : every change or task is stored in a customized XML profile that can be reused
- XML driven : the profiles are in XML format which makes it very flexible for changes, validation etc.
- platform independant : NetProvisioning has been tested on HPUX, Windows, MacOS, Linux
- it uses Log::Log4Perl - extensive logging and debugging options
- very clear output results in XML, HTML, CSV and TXT
- the usage of profiles makes it easy to schedule different tasks using CRON or Win Task Scheduler
- easy to use
- eays to install
